Margherita, an actress preparing for her next role in an international film set to shoot in Los Angeles, has just celebrated her birthday with her closest friends and her son, Enea, a musician unsatisfied with his career. Among the people closest to her are her agent, Michela, and her doctor friend, Ramiro. Her life suddenly changes when she can no longer move. After being hospitalized, she returns home in a wheelchair but hopes to recover soon. Since she is not self-sufficient, in addition to her housekeeper, her ex-partner, Antonio, is called by Enea to help. The two initially behave like strangers. However, as Margherita's health deteriorates after she is diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), they begin to grow closer, and memories of their "happy days" resurface.
