What does Energy2Karma do in international film distribution?
Energy2Karma is a Mumbai-based content distribution business connecting international films, documentaries, animation and other programmes with buyers and distribution partners. We help organize title discovery, private screenings and licensing discussions around a buyer’s audience and market.
How can OTT platforms license films for India?
Start with the catalogue and shortlist relevant titles. Share your platform, company details, requested rights, Indian or other territories, preferred term and language requirements. Energy2Karma checks title suitability and rights availability before discussing a licence.
What is the difference between SVOD, AVOD, TVOD and FAST rights?
SVOD supports subscription viewing, AVOD supports advertising-funded on-demand viewing, and TVOD commonly supports individual rentals or purchases. FAST relates to scheduled, advertising-supported streaming channels. Each permitted use must be defined in the title’s agreement; one model should not be assumed to include the others.
Can we request theatrical, television, satellite or inflight rights?
Yes, you can submit an enquiry for these uses, as well as waterborne, institutional or other specific rights. Availability depends on the title, territory, existing licences and the rights holder’s mandate. A catalogue listing is not confirmation that every right is available.
How do buyers request private film screeners?
Open a title or add films to your shortlist, then select Request screeners. Provide your name, business email, company, role, country and acquisition requirements. Requests are reviewed before private links are released by email.
Do you offer European films, documentaries and animation?
The catalogue includes international cinema, documentaries, documentary series, animation and short films. Use format, language and genre filters to find relevant titles, or send a focused programming brief for a recommendation.
Are Hindi dubbing and regional-language subtitles available?
Existing dubbed versions and subtitle files vary by title and must be verified. Let us know which Indian or other languages you need. Any new dubbing or subtitling work, permissions, costs and delivery dates must be agreed separately.
How can producers submit films for distribution?
Use the Submit your content form with your company details, synopsis, public trailer and the rights you control. Explain existing licences and available delivery materials. Representation and marketing scope are discussed before any title is added to the catalogue.
Does watching a trailer or receiving a screener grant distribution rights?
No. Trailers support discovery and private screeners support evaluation. Distribution, broadcast, exhibition and adaptation rights require a separate written agreement defining the permitted use.
How are film licensing fees and exclusivity decided?
Commercial terms depend on the title, use, territories, term, exclusivity and other agreed conditions. Share your acquisition requirements so the relevant rights holder can consider them. The website does not quote standard fees or promise exclusive availability.
Can I send a programming brief instead of choosing titles myself?
Yes. Tell us about your audience, platform or channel, preferred genres, languages, territories, runtime and target release window. Include budget parameters and any editorial restrictions where possible. This helps us recommend a focused shortlist rather than send an entire library.
Can we license a single film or do we need to acquire a package?
You can enquire about either a single title or a collection. Tell us which titles you want and whether you need a themed package, a series or a broader programming slate. Minimum commitments and package terms, if any, depend on the relevant rights holder and are discussed before an agreement.
Does the online catalogue show everything Energy2Karma can discuss?
The website is a discovery selection built around titles with public trailer assets. It should not be treated as an exhaustive availability list. If you cannot find the genre, language or format you need, send a brief so we can check suitable content and current representation.
How do you confirm that a film is available in my territory?
We check the requested territory, platform, languages, dates and exclusivity against the rights holder’s mandate and known licensing restrictions. Ask for written confirmation of the proposed rights scope before making release commitments. A public title page is an invitation to enquire, not an availability guarantee.
Can we request exclusive or non-exclusive film licensing?
You can request either. State whether exclusivity is essential, which territories and services it should cover, and the licence term you need. Existing licences, holdbacks and the rights holder’s plans may limit the available options. Exclusivity must be expressly agreed for the defined scope.
Can one agreement cover India, SAARC or several international territories?
Tell us the exact countries you need rather than relying only on a regional label. Multi-territory requests can be considered where the relevant rights are available and represented. Coverage is confirmed title by title, and a licence for India should not be assumed to include neighbouring countries.
Are YouTube, Facebook and other social-media rights included in OTT rights?
Do not assume they are included. Name the specific channels, services, territories and intended uses, including full-film uploads, clips or monetization. Social and platform-specific permissions may be excluded from a title’s existing mandate or require a separate agreement.
Can we propose revenue sharing, a licence fee or a minimum guarantee?
Describe the commercial structure you want to discuss, including your service, territories and reporting approach. Proposals are assessed with the relevant rights holder. Energy2Karma does not publish standard deal terms or promise acceptance of a revenue-share, fee or minimum-guarantee model.
What should a buyer do after watching a screener?
Identify the titles you want to pursue, your intended use and the information still needed to make a decision. Share specific editorial feedback, preferred timing and required materials. If a title is unsuitable, a brief explanation helps us improve the next recommendation.
Can colleagues access a screener, and what if the link stops working?
Keep access within the evaluation group and conditions approved for that screener. Ask us before forwarding links to another organization or a wider team. If a link expires or fails, send the title name and a description of the problem so access can be checked. Do not repost the screener to another service.
How quickly can a title be licensed and delivered?
Timing depends on rights confirmation, negotiations, the required documents, existing materials and the receiving platform’s quality checks. Share your target date early. A delivery schedule should be agreed after these dependencies are reviewed; a screener request does not guarantee a release date.
Can we download trailers, posters or clips for our platform marketing?
A public trailer or artwork image is available for browsing, but publication on your own service or campaign should be covered by the agreed promotional permissions. Tell us which assets and uses you need, including edits, subtitles, clips and social promotion, so approval can be confirmed.
What should producers include in a film distribution submission?
Introduce your company and your role in the project. Include the title, format, synopsis, genre, year, runtime or episode breakdown, original language, a public trailer and available artwork. Explain the rights you control, existing licences and the territories you want to discuss. Mention whether a private screener and delivery materials are ready.
Can filmmakers, producers and authorized sales agents all submit content?
Yes, you may introduce content if you own the relevant rights or are authorized to represent them. Explain your relationship to the rights holder and the scope of your authority. Representation documents and title-specific rights information may be needed before Energy2Karma agrees to market or license a title.
What happens after I submit my film or programme?
The initial information is reviewed for content fit, rights clarity and material readiness. We may request a private screener, further metadata or clarification of your sales objectives. Any representation scope and commercial terms must be agreed before the submission becomes an active distribution arrangement.
Does submitting a title guarantee acceptance, a buyer or a sale?
No. A submission opens a discussion. It does not guarantee representation, platform placement, licensing income or a sale. Buyers make their own editorial and commercial decisions, and a distribution agreement should define the work and responsibilities that have actually been accepted.
Can I submit a title that already has a distributor or existing licences?
Yes, provided you clearly explain the remaining rights and any limits on your authority. Disclose existing distributors, exclusive mandates, licensed territories, terms, holdbacks and platform restrictions. We need to understand what can still be offered before approaching buyers.
Will I have to grant worldwide or exclusive representation?
Representation scope is discussed case by case. Identify the territories, rights and period you want Energy2Karma to handle, along with any rights you intend to retain. Do not assume a worldwide or exclusive mandate exists unless it is expressly included in the signed agreement.
How are commissions, expenses and producer payments handled?
The relevant agreement should define any commission, approved expenses, payment responsibilities and reporting arrangements. Ask for these details before committing. The website does not set a standard commission rate, payment schedule or advance, and costs should not be treated as approved simply because a title was submitted.
Can I submit a documentary series, animation or short film?
Yes. Include the intended audience, format and available materials. For a series, provide both series-level information and an episode list with individual runtimes. For animation, describe the target audience without assuming every animated title is suitable for children. Acceptance and suitable sales opportunities are assessed separately.
Can I submit a work in progress or a film without a public trailer?
You can introduce the project and explain its completion stage, expected materials and sales objectives. A public catalogue page on this website requires a suitable public trailer. Private screeners should be shared only through an agreed private route, not placed in a public trailer field. An introduction does not commit E2K to representing an unfinished project.
Who pays for dubbing, subtitles, artwork or technical fixes?
Identify the work needed before agreeing a deal. Responsibility for costs, approvals, schedules and resulting assets should be settled in writing with the relevant parties. Do not assume Energy2Karma, the producer or the buyer will automatically fund localization or repairs.
What delivery materials should a rights holder prepare?
Prepare an inventory of the actual video masters, audio tracks, subtitles, dubbed versions, posters, stills, trailers, synopses and credits you hold. For episodic content, keep the series and episode identifiers consistent. Confirm the buyer’s delivery specification before packaging or uploading the files.
Do I need English subtitles or other language files before submitting?
State exactly which subtitle and dubbed-language files exist and which are still planned. Requirements vary by buyer and title. We may ask for a suitable evaluation version or additional language materials, but an unverified spreadsheet label should not be presented as a ready-to-deliver file.
What if a platform rejects the upload or requests technical corrections?
An upload is a delivery step, not final acceptance or publication. Review the platform’s current specifications and the reported issue, agree who will correct it, and track the replacement through quality control. Common checks include file naming, artwork dimensions, subtitle format, metadata consistency and episode mapping.
How should producers update availability or withdraw a title from discussions?
Contact your Energy2Karma point of contact with the title and the exact change, including affected territories, rights or dates. New licences, mandate expiry and material restrictions need to be reflected in current discussions and listings. Withdrawal or termination is handled according to the relevant agreement; it does not automatically cancel existing licences.
Are remake, adaptation, archival or AI-training permissions included in a film licence?
These uses should be discussed separately and should never be inferred from a standard screening or distribution request. Specify the intended use and confirm who controls the necessary permissions. A catalogue entry, submission or screener does not itself authorize adaptation, archival reuse or AI training.
How can I follow up on a submission or acquisition enquiry?
Use the reference shown after submitting the website form, if you have one, and include the title or shortlist, company name and the purpose of your follow-up. Send updates to info@energy2karma.com. Keep revised rights information and new material links clearly labelled so the current version can be identified.
