Burned by mirrors that illuminate and reflect it, the audience of the old continent witnesses GLI INCA DEL PERÙ. The screen, the stage, the lens, and the mirror expose the contradictions of vision, representation, art, the image we construct of ourselves, and the problem of the Other. The mirror, like a Gorgon, returns a double image—one of senselessness and one of shame. This is not a film of a theatrical performance, but rather a kind of making-of, a factory of representation, a documentary of imagination. And in its unfolding, it reflects on itself and doubts itself—like a ship navigating the abyss.
