What lies behind the silence of those who cannot overcome their trauma? April 9, 2009. Alberto, a firefighter marked by a dramatic past, enters a deserted bar during the news broadcast reporting the destruction and victims of the Abruzzo earthquake, which occurred three days earlier. Tormented by the memory of a tragic event, he recognizes in an old trophy a symbol of his pain. Arriving in the earthquake-stricken area, Alberto and his colleagues dig through the rubble, assisted by a cadaver dog (or sniffer dog) guided by Enrico. When the animal signals something anomalous, Alberto decides to intervene. That descent into the ruins becomes a challenge that will force him to confront the shadow of a memory never truly buried.
